What is ISO and why we are proud of our accreditations

Updated: Jul 20, 2020

"Here at Sandhurst Autoprint, we’re proud of the certifications we’ve received that make us one of the best in our field.

Recently we let you know that we had been awarded our ISO 45001:2018 certification for our Health and Safety compliance, but did you know we also hold the ISO9001:2015 certification for Quality Management and ISO 14001:2015 certification for Environmental Management too?  But what do these achievements mean? Read on to find out!

What is ISO9001:2015?

ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) is internationally recognised as the world’s leading quality management standard and has been implemented by over one million organisations in over 170 countries globally.  The purpose of the standard is to assist companies in meeting statutory and regulatory requirements relating to their product while achieving excellence in their customer service and delivery. The standard can be used throughout an organisation to improve the performance or within a particular site, plant or department.

What is ISO14001:2015? ISO 14001 is the international standard for environmental management systems (EMS) and the most widely used EMS in the world, with over 14,000 organizations certified in the UK and over 360,000 ISO 14001 certificates issued globally. ISO 14001 is the principal management system standard which specifies the requirements for the formulation and maintenance of an EMS. This helps to control your environmental aspects, reduce impacts and ensure legal compliance.  What is ISO45001:2018? ISO 45001 is an International Standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, with guidance for its use, to enable an organisation to proactively improve its OH&S performance in preventing injury and ill-health.  ISO 45001 enables an organisation, through its OH&S management system, to integrate other aspects of health and safety, such as worker wellness/wellbeing; however, it should be noted that an organisation can be required by applicable legal requirements to also address such issues.
