PREPARING FOR BREXIT- PASS ME THE CRYSTAL BALL

PASS ME THE CRYSTAL BALL

Unless you have been living on Mars for the past three years you will know that the UK is planning to leave the EU at the end of October.

As a company we have tried to assess the impact it will have on us as a Number Plate Supplier (hence the Crystal Ball) and to make plans for if we leave with a deal or we make a ‘no deal exit’.

We have considered the following possible areas of concern:

1 Stock Availability – fortunately the great majority of our stock is UK sourced and we have steadily built up a large buffer stock on all our products sitting in our Aldershot Warehouse to cope with any possible issues.

2 Customs and Duties – as yet, no details have been issued in regard to possible duties being added to any products following our exit. We will continue to keep a watchful eye on any news.

3 GB or not GB , that is the question – once we leave the EU do the plates displaying the Euro symbol and stars suddenly become non compliant?.

We believe that any decision regarding Euro plates will be made in the long term so no need to panic. It will possibly mean that the old system of displaying an oval GB sticker will be reintroduced for anyone travelling abroad within Europe.

There is a government website that gives advice on preparing for Brexit in the below link:

We will of course update any new as and when it becomes clearer but if you have any concerns or questions please feel free to contact us.
